After London 2012
We still remember that spectacle of the Olympics. 2012 was a big year, first there was the Golden Jubilee celebrating the long rein of Queen Elizabeth II and then the games themselves. Although we can but wonder after all the fan fare, what become of the Olympics itself after the closing ceremony.
We still all remember those people sat on the bleachers if they were fortunate to buy a ticket, or those millions that were watching around the world. But now its over what will happen the buildings that remain?
The Athletes village that was built for the world's greatest athletes is going up for sale at rent. With the best transport links into London, two olympic sized swimming pools and a velodrome they are going to prove quite popular.
As for the stadium itself, there are various football, cricket and rugby clubs bidding on its next incarnation as a leading sports venue in London. It is due to hold various concerts and other events. So if you did miss out of the Olympics this could well be the next best thing.
