Some Recommendations to Receive College Credit

Coursera strives to ensure that our courses meet our students ' educational purposes, from simply experiencing the joy of learning something new, to strive to improve employment opportunities to earn a degree or diploma. To this end we are proud to announce that the American Council on Education College Credit recommendation Service (ACE LOAN) has evaluated and recommended College loan for five courses Coursera. Many students face enormous financial obstacles in achieving their degrees. We want to help students attend College with the sum of the accrued and output College on time, on budget and with a diploma in hand.

I agree to have these courses available and FREE is amazing. I cleaned factories at night, ran a food truck and even worked full time all day and attended night classes to finish my degree and that was NOT free. I so appreciate all that Coursera offers.

I have a question: I do not live in the US, and I have never been, nor plan to be in the American higher education system. The courses I take here are purely for self-improvement. Do ACE credits have any tangible advantage for people like me? Are they recognized by employers? Can I show transcripts for these credits in case I apply to an American college in the future?

These courses are for personal development. But some courses are signature courses, which can be used to enhance your professional competence in the eyes of employers.

You should talk to indivudual colleges who would accept Coursera ACE credits for their transferred credit. 2,000 coleges in the USA do acce0pt and the other2,200 do noıt . Be careful . Talk to your college.

Well I am sure I am sane enough as I did a whole degree, yet maybe I am insane because I just graduated and I'm already wanting to take these courses online, I'm just weird and love to learn.

Nothing great was ever accomplished by people who were NOT weird. Weird people seek out those things that "normal" people overlook.

Learning has no age limits. I'd accidentally wandered into Coursera and went through the course on Gamification just out of curiosity - and loved it. Since then I've been a regular visitor (and learner) here. I guess you just have to love learning, have the curiosity, and nothing else matters, definitely not age.

Amazing what you guys have accomplished in such a short time. I really hope the computer science subjects like Theory of computation, Analysis and Design of Algorithms etc get its due credit. Will save on tuition, as I am planning for Masters and add a lot to my knowledge which I could not obtain in my undergrad cirriculum.

Great news. This was my every day wish for Coursera. I feel most of Couresra's courses deserve credit accredation. I suggest students/learners from immigration communities may join these courses for their education and career development. Congratulations Coursera.

    This is absolutely amazing!

It would be even more amazing for me if I found some courses of my keen interest. Do I just wait and watch, if it comes? Or is there a way I can actually suggest the type of course to Coursera people?

Due to timing and personal restraints, I wasn't able to move ahead with my education and pursue additional education possibilities after finishing college and becoming an engineer. I have 14 years of experience in the business field, and with the courses I've taken at Coursera, I'm being able to grow personally and professionally as well. Thank you guys for doing an excellent job. The quality of the teachers who've committed to this task is amazing, and it only motivates me to continue completin

I also am hoping that more and more courses will be able to get credits at a University. I'm disabled and can't attend a regular class. Finding this was a great thing.. Would like to see some refresher type courses for those who have been gone from school and can't remember Algebra I and II in high school.

Hi, I am new on this site and would like to do the Introductory Human Physiology course, but it has already started on 25th Feb, is it still ok to enroll or do I need to wait until a next session? Is there any deadline to finish the course? I do work full time and would only be able to study on weekends. Unfortunately I couldn't contact the lecturer as I haven't enrolled for the course. Thanks for the answers in advance.

The education of future social justice leaders, and the ongoing training of those already in the field, is a core function of Case Western Reserve University's Social Justice Institute. By emphasizing the roots, processes, structures and manifestations of inequality and social justice in action, the institute emphasizes a truly unprecedented, university-wide curricular program designed to equip and empower agents of change.

    This is some thing amazing!

Coursera has done really a nice job by providing student  loans this is how education should be promoted.I worked a lot in day time and then got my self educated by doing diploma and that was possible with the help of coursera who provided online courses and student loan.

Wise Words

"When we finally presented it at the shareholders' meeting, everyone in the auditorium stood up and gave it a five-minute ovation. What was incredible to me was that I could see the Mac team in the first few rows. It was as though none of us could believe that we'd actually finished it. Everyone started crying."

The wrong direction

Although this is the first post about my four hour workweek, it did not just start for me. If you read the about me section, that was almost a year ago. So how did I do? Well, I've made some progress. By falling and standing up. By making decisions and ignoring some. After my breakdown I...

My worry about losing the Queen

My worry about losing the Queen would be that she would still be entitled to take money from the Crown Estates. I hope when negotiations are taking place after the referendum, that the SNP would not go soft on this and on a number of other matters, like being over generous with the entitlement...
