How to add quick launch bar in Windows 8
In Windows 8, quick launch bar is missing and you have also tried a lot to get it back. But it is not happening. Quick launch bar is very important in many cases. While you can pin your favorite applications to the taskbar but still quick launch bar is desirable enough for convenience. You can have best of both the worlds by including quick launch bar to the taskbar.
How add quick launch bar in windows 8
First of all unlock the taskbar by right clicking on taskbar. Now, right click on blank area in taskbar. A menu will appear. From there choose Toolbars and click new tool bar.
Now paste the following path into location area in the window. As shown in the picture below. Just make sure that the location bar shows the full path, and then choose the "Select Folder" button.

Now, you will find the Quick Launch toolbar on the taskbar but at the end of you taskbar. Now you will have to drag that to the left. For this click on the dotted lines and then drag it to the left of taskbar.
Then again some dotted lines are there in right. Drag that also to the left. Now you'll want to adjust the taskbar as per your requirement.
You must have found some text on quick launch. You must not need them. To do so right-click on the dotted lines and uncheck "Show Text" as well as "Show Title" from the menu.
Now your Quick Launch toolbar is ready and its working properly and once you're satisfied you should check the "Lock the taskbar" again.
This way you will bring your Quick Launch toolbar back on taskbar.
